I am twenty years old now. I was born in the late 1990s inChina. I have one living grandparent, my mother’s mother. She was born in the early 1930s. My father and mother were born in 1960s. My mother shows that she has six siblings and my grandparents have no ability to support her to go to university.

I start to contact with the opposite sex and form my own attitudes towards love and marriage at the age of twenty. I advocate the freedom of marriage and believe that love is the foundation of marriage. When I ask my grandmother how she thinks of love and marriage, she smiles and says that she did not meet my grandfather before they got married. My grandmother says that she became a mother when she was twenty years old and tries to raise a family with my grandfather. Although there is no indelible story or resounding love between my grandmother and grandfather, my grandmother indicates that her marriage is happy. My mother says that she knows my father through my father’s friend. After the first meeting, my mother and my father started to have a date. My father shows that people were conservative in 1980s and he did not dare to touch my mother’s hands or hug my mother. After nearly five months later, my mother and my father married. My mother reveals that they were free to choose their marriage, but the premise is that the two families were well-matched in social and economic status. Besides, my father emphasizes that he never expresses his love to my mother in public, but he always loves my mother in his deep heart.
